Yes. The macOS application is available, signed and notarised by Apple. It is free to create, refine and present.
Your .deck files stay on your drive, the application keeps opening, editing and presenting them, and decks stored in the Cloud stay editable in the web editor. PowerPoint export, link sharing and other paid features, such as the Autonomous plan’s assistant, are no longer available.
No. The assistant is included in the Autonomous plan. You can also connect your own agent, Claude Code or Codex, on any plan: the deck CLI and the Decktype skill it relies on are documented.
No. Decktype exports a .pptx file that Keynote opens. Complex features may still render differently.
